Immune-boosting foods and nutritional supplements are the best ways to strengthen our body’s defences in a natural way. Each ingredient found in our Immune Tea has its own benefits to offer and makes for the perfect immune boosting tea recipe.

Echinacea: Known to cut the chances of catching a common cold by over 58%. Studies show that it can also reduce a cold by 1.4 days.

Yarrow: Used to induce sweating and helps raise body heat in cases of fever. It also relieves hay fever and can be used as a skin treatment to heal wounds.

Peppermint: Natural decongestant and antispasmodic. It helps alleviate congestion and soothe a sore throat.

Elderberry: Soothes cold and flu symptoms, including fever, headache, fatigue, sore throat and coughing. Of course they are an absolute ‘must have’ in our immunity tea.

Ginger: Anti-inflammatory and helps relieve a sore throat quickly. It also helps kill rhinoviruses, which cause colds in the first place. Ginger also help sweat out unwanted toxins from the body.

Rose hip: Extremely high in vitamins and minerals, helping reduce the duration and severity of colds. It is said to contain more vitamin C than an orange.

Lemon peel: High in vitamins C and is effective in treating a sore throat and aids digestions.

Elderflower: Helps slowly break down congestion in the lungs and sinuses. It also has the power to cut down the duration of a cold.

How to brew Immune Tea

•  Place 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per cup (250ml) in an infuser or teapot and pour over boiling water (100°C)

• Infuse for 5+ minutes depending on your desired strength

• Pour into your favourite cup and experience the moment

• We recommend complementing with a slice of lemon and honey to taste

• Enjoy 1-4 cups daily in between meals to fortify and restore immunity.

After finishing your brew, we encourage you to return your steeped herbs back to the earth, for example in your home compost, worm farm or garden waste, allowing it to breakdown into organic matter and return to nourish our environment.

Serves

Our Immune Tea Box and Jar contain 80g and serves up to 40 cups. The compostable Refill Pouch contains 160g and serves up to 80 cups.

Storage

To preserve the vitality, flavour and therapeutic actions of our teas, we recommend storing in our signature MIRON ultraviolet glass jars – or in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Storing in this manner will extend the blends aroma, vibrancy and benefits for up to 24 months.

Is this blend suitable for children?

This tea is safe for children from about 1yr of age at a ratio of quarter teaspoon per cup for ages 1-5yrs

For babies

Herbal teas can generally be introduced to infants after the introduction of solids, typically around 6 months of age. Before this age, herbals teas can be successfully used by proxy through the breast milk of the nursing mother

For older children 5+

Herbal trea can generally be consumed at a normal adult ratio.
