The Artisan Farmer Cafe Review

Outdoor view of The Artisan Farmer Cafe with a play area, seating, and parking under a clear blue sky.

In my travels around the countryside of NSW, I love it when I find a place to call in, have a meal, and load up on goodies for the rest of my journey. On the outskirts of Nabiac, there is an amazing business called The Artisian Farmer.

It’s a great place to stop, especially with a larger vehicle or caravan in tow like me. They have drive-through parking which I just loved. It’s pet-friendly and has a lovely children’s play area out the back of the main building.

It’s a big building that houses a bakery, café, butchery, ice creamery, cafe, and lots of grocery items all sourced from the local area or artisan producers such as themselves

I arrived just after their breakfast menu had finished but it looked delicious. I scouted around the outskirts of the enormous, seated area to find little nooks and crannies filled with produce, cheeses, flowers, condiments, etc. The bakery was in full swing I suppose getting ready for the lunch rush.

I purchased some Wagyu Beef Ribs for my son-in-law, some specialty sausages for me, and a basket full of pantry goodies to try.

For me, while the concept was great, I felt it was too big a building to have character and the homeliness that I like to feel when visiting places. It was stark and very noisy. So as a single traveller, I brought my lunch and opted to have it outside in their seated area out there.

I loved the idea of a local farmer value-adding his beef and providing a place for other similar entrepreneurs to do the same. Life is tough on the land and it’s hard to make a living and I wish them well in their enterprise. I will always call in on the way past to support them and I encourage you to do the same.

"Here at the Artisan Farmer, Nabiac we are dedicated to creating vibrant culinary experiences centred on locally grown & sourced produce. Our property is a beautiful intersection of the sustainable farming of Wagyu beef, a thriving garden, honey made right here and ingredients served in our café, grown across our community.
